Dana's 10 apartment kitchens, University area, Riverside (commercial)
Dana manages an apartment community near the University area of Riverside, and her units were vacating two at a time. She needed 10 apartment kitchens in builder white quartz without any unit sitting empty while it waited on stone. We recommended templating each pair of units the day they vacated and installing a week later, so the stone kept pace with move-outs. The package was an estimated $24,500 to $38,000 and ran an estimated 10 to 20 days of install time across the turnover. Result: all 10 units turned on the property manager's leasing schedule.
Carol's waterfall island, near the Nixon Library
Carol lives on a horse-property lot near the Richard Nixon Presidential Library, and her remodel made the island the centerpiece of an open plan. She chose Taj Mahal quartzite for an island with 2 waterfall sides. Our recommendation was to bookmatch the two drops so the veining mirrors on both ends, cut from consecutive slabs. Her project came in at an estimated $2,600 to $3,500 and took an estimated 6 to 8 hours on site. The finished island shows a mirrored vein pattern on both waterfall sides, the detail she had asked about at the first visit.
Ray's BBQ island, Sierra Bella, Corona
Ray had a backyard BBQ island in Sierra Bella where an old tile top had cracked in the sun. For his 11 ft BBQ island we suggested leathered Absolute Black granite, which stays cooler to the touch and hides water spots outdoors. That outdoor job was estimated at $2,000 to $2,700 and typically needs an estimated 1 to 2 days, including the grill cutout. He now has a one-piece top over the grill cutout, with no grout left to crack.
Marcus's range wall, Eastvale
Marcus owns an Eastvale home built 2000 or later, where a tile backsplash had grease-stained grout behind the range. He wanted quartz matching the counters to run from the range wall to the hood. We templated outlet cutouts on site and cut one slab from the counter to the hood. The backsplash was an estimated $1,900 to $2,700 job over an estimated 1 to 2 days. Today he wipes down a range wall with no grout lines at all.
Tom's ranch kitchen, Norco
Tom lives in a Horsetown USA ranch home with a long kitchen, two corners and a 1980s laminate top. For his 45 sq ft ranch kitchen in Colonial White granite, we placed both seams over cabinet partitions, away from the sink and the cooktop. The kitchen was an estimated $3,600 to $4,600 and took an estimated 1 to 2 days to set and seal. His seams sit where nobody leans, and the granite is sealed throughout.
Nancy's integrated sink kitchen, Temescal Valley
Nancy lives in a single-story home in Trilogy at Glen Ivy and wanted no sink rim to clean. We recommended solid surface with an integrated sink, joined so no seam falls at the bowl. Her 34 sq ft kitchen ran an estimated $2,600 to $3,400 and typically takes an estimated 1 to 2 days to install. The result is a smooth top with a sink she wipes straight into.
