Tom's Horsetown USA ranch home in Norco had a long ranch kitchen with two corners and a 1980s laminate top that had started to lift at the sink. Two corners meant two seams, so we placed both seams over cabinet partitions, away from the sink and the cooktop, and cut the 45 sq ft ranch kitchen from Colonial White granite. The project was an estimated $3,600 to $4,600 for the Horsetown USA ranch home and took an estimated 1 to 2 days on site. The result Tom sees in his 45 sq ft ranch kitchen: seams that sit where nobody leans, and sealed granite throughout.
Slab layout decides how a granite kitchen looks more than the stone itself, because a granite slab typically measures 110 to 130 in. long by 55 to 65 in. wide and every piece of the kitchen has to come out of it. During the typical 1 to 3 weeks between template and install day, we photograph the actual slabs, lay the laser template over them on screen and move each piece until the movement in the stone runs the way you want it.
An extra slab is the costliest layout mistake, typically adding an estimated $1,000 to $2,500 when a layout runs short, which is why the layout happens before the order.

Granite seams are hairline joints under 1/16 in., filled with color-matched epoxy, and they belong over a cabinet partition, never through a sink or cooktop cutout. No stone seam is invisible, but a good one is flat to the touch and follows the pattern. Long ranch kitchens in Norco and tract kitchens in Eastvale often run past the length of one slab, so the question is never whether there is a seam but where it lands.
We set seams with a vacuum seam setter so both edges sit level, then knife the epoxy flush. A seam across a sink cutout is the one we refuse to cut, because the narrow stone at the sink front is where granite cracks.
Granite countertop installation in Riverside is estimated at roughly $55 to $135 per sq ft installed, and the slab grade, the layout yield and the number of cutouts move the price most. Common colours such as Colonial White granite and Alaska White granite sit at the lower end, while exotic granites with heavy movement sit higher.

| Job | Est. investment | Est. duration on site |
|---|---|---|
| Kitchen countertop replacement (30 to 45 sq ft) | Est. $2,100 to $4,800 per kitchen | Est. 1 to 2 days |
| Kitchen island top | Est. $1,600 to $3,400 per island top | Est. 3 to 6 hours |
| Outdoor kitchen granite tops | Est. $1,400 to $2,800 per outdoor kitchen | Est. 1 to 2 days |
| Wet bar or home bar top | Est. $750 to $2,400 per bar top | Est. 3 to 5 hours |
| Old countertop tear-out and haul-away | Est. $150 to $500 per project | Est. 2 to 5 hours |
Most granite kitchens we set in Norco and Corona fall inside the estimated $2,100 to $4,800 range for a full kitchen, and older out-of-level cabinets typically add shimming time on top. Professional resealing later is typically estimated at $65 to $200 for a typical kitchen if you would rather not do it yourself.
The granite prices on this page are estimates and remain subject to change. Your written quote after the laser template sets the final price and the install schedule, and it depends on the granite you pick, the layout yield and the cutouts your kitchen needs.
Granite is the best value for heat and sun, engineered quartz is the lowest upkeep indoors, and quartzite is the hardest of the three. The table compares them by estimated installed price, heat tolerance and sealing.
| Material | Est. installed price | Heat and sun | Sealing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Granite | Est. $55 to $135 per sq ft | Handles hot pans and full sun | Sealed every 1 to 2 years |
| Engineered quartz | Est. $65 to $145 per sq ft | Resin can scorch and fade in sun | Never needs sealing |
| Natural quartzite | Est. $85 to $185 per sq ft | Handles heat and sun | Sealed at install, then on a schedule |
Granite is the stone we install for heat and sun in Riverside, because it handles cooking temperatures of roughly 400 to 1,200 degrees and does not yellow under UV the way quartz resin can. Santa Ana winds push dust and heat across every patio from Mount Rubidoux to the Wood Streets. Linda's outdoor kitchen on the horse-keeping lots off Norco Drive is polished Steel Grey granite for exactly that reason, and Gabe's L-shaped BBQ counter in Woodcrest is flamed Black Pearl granite for grip and heat.
Indoors, granite still deserves a trivet under a cast iron pan straight from a 500 degree oven, because a sudden hot spot can stress a seam or a narrow piece.

Granite is sealed on install day with a penetrating impregnator, and most kitchens typically need a fresh coat every 1 to 2 years. The water test tells you when: if water darkens the stone within a few minutes, wipe on sealer, let it soak and buff it off. Daily cleaning is warm water and a pH-neutral stone cleaner; vinegar and bleach wear the sealer down faster.
Granite buyers often compare quartz countertops with no sealing, harder quartzite slabs and solid surface tops before choosing.

Our owner has walked the slab yard on more than 1,870 projects and checks the layout before anything is cut, and the same crew that templates your kitchen installs it. In 12 years of setting granite, our seams have stayed where the layout put them, and the 1-year workmanship warranty on seams, fit and sink mounting covers every top.
We set granite across a 35-mile radius of the Riverside shop, with most granite ranch kitchens in Norco, Woodcrest horse properties and Corona neighborhoods, plus Eastvale, Temescal Valley, Chino Hills, Yorba Linda and Villa Park on our service area page.
